Welkom welkom welkom

-Stuur me vooral veel berichtjes!! Vind ik echt moker gezellig!!

En nu serieus. Door naar de presentatie.

HIDALGO TRAILS
Stud farm, ranch, trails and more.

For all proud believers in the Western Pleasure, as well as the Western life, we are situated in Tsitiwas, Wacoma along the riverbanks where the Hidalgo trails run along the shore.  Famous for its stunning views and extraordinary horses, along with the broad range of wildlife gifted by the upward winds that breeze over the Tejan Gulf. Originally cofounded by Sir Graham Wahlton and Grey Horse of the Ute tribe, way back in 1851. Surviving the peak and the downfall of the Wild West Imperium, the Hidalgo ranch stood tall when its oppressors and confreres fell to Eastern tyranny.

Nowadays, the old ranch has been thoroughly fixed up, while keeping its 'unchained' charm. Please visit the stable's site for more information on housing and trails here. Our first operational month has been thoroughly celebrated with gifts and renovations, thank you everyone who helped us out! We are proud to announce to offer full state-of-the-art western tack for everyone who holds a place in our stables. We also have a completely new-build stable with automated watertrough and ofcourse we offer all feed (including 'mengvoer') for no additional fees. Come see for yourself what contemporary life is like at Hidalgo trails!

The Hidalgo trails are as old as books and can often be misleading to contemporary settlers, perhaps like yourself. Do not hesitate to approach locals, as they are often very willing to share their favorite rides and the rich history they take with on their travels.

Our Stud farm does not date back all these years, with our oldest stallion having only a mere handful of years on his tally, his blood runs back to medieval times where no horse's back had yet been burdened by man. Present-day we specialize in Nokota horses, thus far. More information on the Nokota breed can be found below, for any keen latecomers. The broadening of our range of breeds will be followed closely on this page. Currently we are awaiting news from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), on a family of disregarded Mustangs and have recently purchased our first two Appaloosa mares, a filly and a (now) pregnant horned lady.

Our most awarded stud, who is available right now, is Alecio. With many victories in the Western Pleasure principle, he has shown true courage and talent in the business. He is what we call a man-of-his-field. Prices range for him, however since we are still starting up the stud part of our ranch they will not skyrocket just yet. He is a beautiful image of a dark, strawberry Roan, Nokota, as fitting as he could be to his breed.

From a different bloodline, grassland and background, we also have Mirese available for stud. He is an amazing walker, with an extraordinary trot. His dressage skills show exceptionally in the Western pleasure, as well as the trail branch of the western principle. For now he is the youngest stud on our ranch, but show very great talent in both the competition and stud world. A hard worker as he is, his stamina shows for it, he cannot wait to get back to business.

Lastly, as mentioned before, we offer broodmares for 'hire'. For our horned gents we have Cinnipe, our oldest asset. She is our crowned mare in the unicorn branch and is now hopefully awaiting her second horned filly of Hidalgo Trails from the extraordinary Hercules of Lone Ranger. Cinnipe's character is truly extraordinary we hope it to be inherited by his coming son or daughter. Her daughter, Cevila, has also been expecting e foal, also from the great Hercules. We are very excited for her to start her career as a broodmare, alongside the various competitions she has shown quite great talent for. We hope all her fillies, horned or not, are able to share this aspect of their mother.

We strive to give our fillies a fantastic and long youth, starting to halter them at age 3 and finally putting a saddle on them around their 5th year. This means that by the 6th year, when their body has turned fully adult, they are ready to take off into the trails or arena. Talk to us about our training opportunities.

Our fillies will also be mostly for sale, they will be listed here. All of them come with a small-time guarantee, please send us a message to confirm a time period and of course a price. All auctions are final sales! Many of our mares are broodmares, and will have no problem carrying a friend for you, no limitations stallion-wise besides that we only breed purebred. Sounds interesting? Send us a message, no commitments only information. We cannot wait to welcome you on our ranch and have you leave with the horse of your dreams.

MORE ON THE NOKOTA HORSE

The Nokota horse originated in the 1900's, after ranchers decided to breed their semi-feral Mustang horses with the ranch-horses, often Spanish horses, thoroughbreds and harness-horses.
The Nokota's often have a small frame, prominent withers and a sloped croup. They can be found in many colors, the more common colors being blue roan, black and gray. Less common colors are red roan, (dark)bay, chestnut, dun, grullo, and palomino. Overo and tobiano's are not uncommon and can be found in almost any mix.
Nokota's are very intelligent, stubborn and versatile. They are loving and caring, but need to be able to trust. Their name has been derived from the Nakota people, who shared very similar traits with their horses, according to old western books.
We know the breed as one that is hard-working, balanced, ready-on-their-feet, but rather lazy than tired. They are truely a breed to bond with and will rarely stumble on a trail. They are the epitome of bomb-proof. Stubbornness is in their blood, but not for nothing. Ancient times have left them with a natural instinct that will rarely let them wander down the wrong trail, even if you swear you know the way.
